I cannot rave about this place enough. The attention to detail was amazing. Every employee was ultra professional, from the man who picked me up at the airport to the woman who delivered a forgotten item to my room. The hotel itself was clean, well appointed and I was proud to have some friends meet me in the comfortable lobby. I would recommend it highly and I intend to return myself.

My husband and I stayed at the Monaco for our trip to Washington, D.C. I am a very picky customer, and I wanted to be sure to put this review online. This wonderful hotel was the best hotel we have ever stayed at in our 37 years of marriage. It is first-class all the way. The staff was absolutely wonderful - from the managers, desk clerks, doormen, to the cleaning staff. They are well-trained, friendly and extremely helpful. Our stay could not have been better. The rooms and the hotel itself, are absolutely beautiful - decor is lovely and fun. Rooms are beautiful and the beds are heavenly soft. Nice roomy bathrooms and cushy soft clean linens everyday. It has a nice workout room, my husband is an avid jogger, and a nice pool to relax in. The hotel is on King Street which is bustling with terrific places to eat. We highly recommend the Warehouse just a block away, to eat a superb dinner in the evening. The food is delicious and beautiful presentation. The waterfront is only a few blocks from the hotel, and we enjoyed going down there every evening for drinks and to enjoy the coolness of the river. The hotel is very safe and the location is perfect. The free trolly to the Metro doesn't start until about 11:30 am, I think, and we always wanted a very early start to see the sites in D.C., so we always walked to the Metro every morning about 7am. It's a good walk - about 20 minutes. It got easier everyday. When we got off the Metro in the evening, we caught the free trolly back to our hotel. If you're wanting to stay in Alexandria, pick this hotel. It was truly first-class and wonderful.

This hotel really believes in customer service. Key wouldn't let me back in room in the morning when out for coffee and desk clerk accompanied me to my room to let me in. Decor was gorgeous and bed was heaven. Excellent location for exploring alexandria and parking was only $20-good for this area.
