Savannah was chosen as the site for a surprise trip as a birthday present. Staybridge Suites was chosen for its location. The location was fantastic. It was close to the river, trolley sites, and most points of interest. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Charlie, the concierge, was absoutely wonderful and we wanted to take him home with us. The room we stayed in was nothing special. The suite was really just an ordinary sized space with a small kitchen stuck in the corner of the room. The elevator system was sporadic. The breakfast was ho hum. One needs to also know that when you fly to Savannah the cab fare is about $one way. Savannah itself was wonderful. The history of the area was fascinating and the tours were informative. We took an evening ghost carriage tour that was less than exciting but the food, drink, Oktoberfest, and general ambience were memorable.

What a great place!!!! It is in the perfect spot for seing Savannah, right across from the factors walk. The food was great, the free beverages and light meal in the evening ;on tues-thurs; was a great touch. The building was beautifully decorated, clean, the beds were comfortable and I would never stay anywhere else when visiting Savannah.

My biggest complaint about this hotel is that the carpets were dirty. In the elevator, filthy. In the room, dirty, especially leading from the bathroom to the room. Everyday the cleaning crew sprinkled room deodorizer on the carpet before vacuuming up, leaving the room with a heavy perfumy smell and white dust on the wood moldings and window sills. I wondered if they had ever been steam cleaned properly. If you didn't look at the floors, or carpets, the hotel was actually nice looking. It's a historic building a block from the river. The hot breakfast was a plus, espcially for saving time in the morning or for additional savings. I didn't find the hotel staff overly hospitable or even friendly. I'd never stay here again, I've never stayed at a Staybridge Suites before, so I cannot say if this was what they are all like, or this one didn't meet company standards.
