Situated near shopping, entertainment, museums, parks, Lake Michigan, and great dining, Hotel 71 is a good value...not cheap but priced fairly, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, in a terrific location. The traveler who enjoys seeing places on foot will like staying here. A huge room and spacious bath were clean with all applicances functioning (not to be taken for granted). Parking is convenient if you travel in by car; the train station and L terminal is close by if you come in by rail or air. I've stayed here several times over the past five or six years, and its always nice. One of the bellmen was working the first time I stayed, and he's there still. That speaks to several qualities of people involved at all levels of operations. I don't know anything about the food and bar but there is a great Italian restaurant one or two doors away, and a nice coffee place with a wide food selection a door or so past that. Both might as well be on premises they are so close. I give Hotel 71 a Strong recommend.

Great View of the river from my room. Hotel centrally located enjoyed the free internet in the room and in the business center enjoyed being able to use the printer in the business center friendly staff elevators limited- but not much of an issue will definitly stay again

Had a great time in Chicago and Hotel 71 made it even better. The staff was knowledgeable about where things were. Suggestions on where to eat and party were right on. Very friendly staff. Location was about one block off of the Magnificient Mile and close to Rush street. Transportation was very close by. Room was newly renovated and very spacious.
