Hotel room great, the bed very comfortable and the was clean, the room was small but enough for me. It is an Historic building with exposed brick and original post. Very friendly and helpful staff. My taxi was waiting every time I needed one. Major attraction are in walking distance. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there on my next visit. Don't use the ATM outside the hotel.

My husband and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. Our check in and out went smoothly and quickly, and the staff was ready and available to answer our questions about the French Quarter and public transportation. The room was clean, spacious, and the beds were comfy. The only that could've been done better was if they had mentioned that our hotel room didn't have a window. We would've loved to watched the NOLA streets from above, but it was nothing that we thought we needed to switch rooms for. The location of the hotel was the best....located on quaint Magazine St., a few short blocks from Bourbon St., the French Market, River Walk, Aquarium of the Americas, the street cars, and a plethora of pubs and restaurants. We have stayed at The Ambassador hotel, which is in the same area, but this one is a tad closer to all of the famous New Orleans sights. NOTE: Carlos Mencia's restaurant was located nearby on the corner........I can't stress how delicious the food was! The portions were huge and they had a great selection of specialty cocktails. It compared in price to other NOLA restaurants, and the decor and location made it warm and inviting. Great wait staff too.

This hotel is a nightmare. Three of us were slated to stay in this hotel, they put us in a room with one bed and a pull-out coach. If I pay for a room I EXPECT a real bed and they made us make it up ourselves! The carpets in the room looked as if someone had too much Bourbon street and had thrown up all over them (they don't have stain remover in New Orleans??) I made them give us the room we paid for and even that one had disgusting carpets. The room was dusty and the windows were dirty, at least we had a window, the other room didn't. The beds were horrendous and the linens were suspect. The maids forget to replenish our towels several times and not once did they vacuum our room over the 7 days we were there. The hotel staff was alright except for one desk clerk who was so horrible to us when ever we asked for towels etc. Also our toilet continued to run, I asked for maintenance to fix it the first day we were here, but no one came to fix it. This hotel almost ruined out trip and I would never recommend it.

We really enjoyed staying in New Orleans. The location of this hotel was perfect for us. We never had to get in the car, we walked everywhere we wanted to go. The front desk employees were very nice and very helpful. Gave us suggestions on what to do and how to catch the trolley to the zoo. I did not like not having a window in our room. Felt like a cave. We loved the cafe style dining area for the free continental breakfast. The coffee was wonderful. Unfortunately, I left a new blouse and cami haning in the amoire. I called the housekeeping department the next morning after checking out. They disconnected me several times and finally told me that they did not find it. I know without a shadow of a doubt I left the blouse and cami hanging in the room. The front desk employees tried to help, however I don't think I will see my blouse or cami again.
