Stayed at Sofitel for a weekend with my husband. We felt we got a very reasonable non-refundable rate. We had a comfortable, clean, updated room with a nice marble bathroom on the third floor. There is no in-room coffee maker, but coffee is available in the lounge in the morning. The location was very convenient. We walked to many sites near the National Mall and cabs were readily available when we wanted to go further off. There were many restaurants within wakling distance. We ate at the hotel french restaurant one night. The service and environment was top notch. My husband had scallops which were outstanding, I had the special sea bass, which was okay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Overall the hotel was fine. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and service was good. The main dining room food was not that good. We we ordered a fairly expensive bottle of wine from the menu and when we were served, it was the wrong vintage. When my husband pointed that out to the server he was told "it was the same as the other vintage". The wine was sub-par, as was the food. While there isn't anything negative to say about the hotel as to why I would not stay there again, it lacked a "warmth" or cozyness that I like. I prefer hotels with more character. So, if one is looking for a hotel in a convenient area to the White House and Mall, and willing to pay a little more, this hotel is fine.

Close to everything. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. One night we were just curious to see if we could borrow an RCA cable for our TV. The concierge said he would check and see if there was one available, but no luck. We thought nothing of it, and went back into our room only to hear a knock 2 minutes later with a maintenance man toting an RCA cable, explaining that it was the only one he could find. He told us to enjoy our stay. Now that's service. Thanks Sofitel!
