The hotel is beautiful. The staff was friendly and informative. The W is a great place to stay for friends getaway. Friday night the W is a hot spot. Not really a family type hotel. The pool area is very nice. They have a DJ on site on the weekend. They just need to have more servers to accomodate the volume of people at the pool. Easily accessible to shopping by public transportation and Las Olas Blvd. It's in walking distance to restaurants. Parking and restaurant prices are high but then again it is a 4 star hotel. I was disappointed that the hotel doesn't provide a shuttle/transportation service to/from the hotel.

The W definitely met my expections are far as the quality of the room and lobby and its bars are concerned. The place looks amazing. However I must say the incidential charges are a killer. 30.00 a night parking, 14.00 drinks, and forget about taking anything out of the minibar. I did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel. It was very high priced. Next door in the Westin there was a Shula's on the Beach, which is an excellent steakhouse. Not cheap buy any means, but less expensive then the steakhouse at the W. Had a great time, I will be back.

I expected a lot more from this top hotel. The beds are uncomfortable. We woke up everyday with a sore back. The bathroom is dysfunctional. There is no room to keep your toiletries and the hair dryer is the travel version. Our room had ants crawling all over the floor one morning. The restaurant is nothing to write home about as well as the service at the bars. You wait forever for a drink even when it is not busy. I will not stay here ever again.

Brand new...no expense spared super luxury hotel. Right on the sand on Fort Lauderdale beach, great public rooms, beautiful guest rooms and suites (condos) and flawless service. Would come to Fort Lauderdale just to stay here again and a relative bargain considering the quality of the hotel and the neighboring "competition"...none of which can compare... On the "minus" side...a bit "cold"...lots of granite, glass, stainless steel and cool blue and beige colors and wide expanses of interior space...very contemporary and trendy...but not "warm and friendly". This is a hotel to be seen in and to experience, beautiful and chic, but not "cozy". Young couples and singles will feel "important" and "at home" on a grand scale...but older folks and families...a bit too "edgy"...
