This was a nice hotel, especially for the money. Desk clerks each of the nights were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, not overly large, but very appropriate. Only issues we had was the maid forgot to leave the essentials, kleenex, soap, shampoo, etc. on two occasions during our 3 night stay. It was quickly addressed by the front desk clerk. I would highly reccomend this for the price and location. Breakfast wasn't the greatest, but this was in the hotels ammenities.

10/19/2009Room was alright but nothing great. the beds were extremely uncomfortable...we only got about an hour of sleep due to the beds. even though the price was very reasonable ...
Room was alright but nothing great. The beds were extremely uncomfortable...we only got about an hour of sleep due to the beds. Even though the price was very reasonable the beds made it not worth staying there again.

I visited this hotel during Thunder over Louisville. I didn't decide to attend until the last minute so getting a room downtown was out of the question. I have stayed in several hotels in Louisville for business but never the Howard Johnson. I was quite pleased with the price, location and condition of the room. The clerk that checked us in was very polite and offered tips for taking a cab to the riverfront, etc. Since I know the area well, I opted to drive. The ONLY negative was that she (the clerk) was in the lobby talking on her cell phone when we arrived. However, she immediately came over to the desk and ended her cell phone call to greet us. I was a bit put off by that, but she was very attentive thereafter. I found the room to be clean and large enough for my one night stay. I would recommend this hotel to others & will definately stay there again when I attend events at the EXPO center.
