The place is really close to Carowinds. It has a great breakfast and the rooms are real nice. The kids had a great time in the pool. Beds were comfortable and it was nice to a have a lot of seperate rooms.

First of all, it took 15-20 mins to check in and no one else was around. The A/C is in the living room so if you want the bedroom to stay cool and someone has to sleep on the sofabed, tell them to bring winter pajamas. There's a little fan in the wall between the L/R and B/R that will cool the bedroom at the expense of frostbite to whoever is in the L/R. The shower was pathetic. We all had to get on our knees to wash our hair under the tub's faucet. No water pressure at all. The area between the top of the tub needed to be cleaned or re-caulked - very dirty looking. The continental breakfast was not good at all. Cereal was the only thing that tastes good enough to eat and that's if your milk was cold after sitting in a carafe for who knows how long. We choose this hotel so our son's friend would have his own bed (sofabed) - just had to chisel the frost off his eyebrows in the morning.

We stayed in one of the hotel's suites from 8-29-07 to 9-03-07. We were bringing our daughter to start college at JWU. If you are looking for a basic hotel suite that includes a FULL kitchen and offers a continental breakfast ; then Mainstay is a good choice. It has a cute outdoor pool and wireless internet. This hotel has mid-level quality that matches its cost per night. Nothing fancy to write home about; it'll simply meet all your basic needs. We would stay here again. If budgeting is on your mind, you'll find the basic value to cost is a simple match.
