What a horrible trip all because of this place. I booked a room specifically at Super 8 because I was told we could have adjoining rooms. Before I made my reservation I called this motel directly and they said that it would not be a problem. So when I booked I wrote it in the comment box under both reservations. I again called a couple days later to make sure that the reservation was set. When we arrived at check in my husband was told that the guy working the night before booked someone in the adjoining rooms and that they decided to extend their stay. So we were out of luck. I was furious to say the least. We were coming from Phoenix and I had a 4 month old and 4 year old. I didn't want to have to go outside in the cold to hang out with the rest of my family. When I went in and spoke to the unpleasant lady at the front desk she said that they had another adjoining available, but it was reserved for another party that was not there yet. Oh my gosh! I was so angry and asked how that could be and let her know that I spoke to someone (probably her) earlier that day to CONFIRM once again that we had those rooms. She did not seem to care one bit and told me I could go somewhere else. I did not know the area and my husband already went to the room and unpacked everyone. I was so tempted to leave and should have. Our room had cold air coming through a crack in the door, lights didn't work. the place was gross. The front desk lady made me so mad I wrote to the company.

I will never stay there again. Out of three nights stay, maid service was only once. The noise from adjacent rooms kept us up and red eyed the next day. When front desk was called no attempt was made to stop it. Banging on the walls would have been more effective. Hot tub was not working. General attitude of staff was rude.

Check in at the office was smooth but that's where it ended. When we arrived at our room the door was open and the room was a shambles. (Not made up--2:30 in the afternoon) When we returned the room had an odd smell. We discovered the bathroom ceiling had mold above the shower and there was mold on the wall under the sink. The carpets were filthy--after walking around with our shoes off in the room the bottoms of our feet were black and when shower was awful. We had asked front desk for additional pillows. After 1 hour and still having not received them we called desk again only to be informed she could not bring them to us and would we come get them. Second day there they blocked off parking in front of our room and brought in huge lift bucket to power wash and paint building. This on dorm move in weekend for Northern Arizona University. This crane was left outside our room the entire day and night. When I inquired to front desk about speaking to a manager I was informed that they would not be in until Monday morning. Of course they were having their building sprayed on one of their busiest weekends why would they be there to field complaints. Definetly overpriced for the service and having to put up with the mold smell.

The hotel is in a pretty good location and was pretty clean - that is ALL I can say good about it. I had to switch rooms because the people next to me were screaming at their kids. After 3 hours, I told the front desk. Three hours later it was worse. I could hear everything they were saying and I think they were living at the hotel. I didn't want to get them kicked out so just asked to switch rooms instead. I had a very early day the next day and needed my sleep. The front desk clerk was professional but seemed uncaring. Better than the woman working before him who was yelling at people across the street (no idea why?). So he switches me to another room but says ""I can't promise what your new neighbors will be like"". So in other words - it's not his problem if other guests are loud????? The new room was quieter but the lamps and pictures weren't even up on the wall straight. I don't really care, I just want sleep... but what a horrible hotel for the price I paid. And also comparing it to other Super 8 Hotels that are usually very good for your money. The hotel in general was very old. Oh also, the original room's air conditioning unit smelled like urine. I just kept it off (thankfully it wasn't hot). That's why I couldn't use the fan to drown out the noise beside me. Come to think of it, the lobby smelled very similar... While it was nice having a Barnes & Noble right next door, I had someone beg for money from me right outside the hotel. Don't know how safe the area was...

The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. It was so hot and busy at the Grand Canyon, we couldn't wait to get back to the peace and tranquility of the hotel. The pool is lovely Our kids are 11 and 13 and they enjoyed it. The pool attendants were wonderful, laying out 3 towels per sun lounger, with one rolled up as a head rest. The Spa is out of this world. Expensive but fabulous. Restaurants are great. The front desk personel were very helpful
