I must say this hotel offered a very decent price for a very comfortable stay. Everyone was friendly and the room was confortable and the kitchen was a plus. We did not expect daily room cleaning, which we found to be also a plus. The cleaning persons were very friendly and courteous. They accidentaly threw away my mom's face soap, but was very friendly and apologetic. The only problem is that they were short staff and could not bring you items you order from your room, but the exercise was good.

I stayed here in January. They've recently remodeled the lobby. The staff said they were getting new TV's and updating the rooms soon. The hotel was quiet, and I was able to get my work done quickly and efficiently. There are great little restaurants all within walking distance and even though it was January it was worth the walk. There's lots of places that will deliver too if you'd rather not walk. I really enjoyed the full kitchen because I was able to have breakfast in my room which saved me money. I'll be back.

The place is a complete dump but I wasn't going to write a review until I discovered (30 days later) that they also charged an additional 137.78 to my credit card after check-out without any notification or explanation. They claimed the check-out clerk made an error in devising the new rate for an early check-out, and it was my "mistake and not the hotel's for checking out early". But during the actual check out clerk, the clerk advised the new rate was $99.99 for early check out and this is the amount showing on my receipt. I checked out because the free internet service was not working for 2 of the 3 nights I did stay there. However, the place also hasn't seen a bucket of soapy water or paint since 1980's. If you can't find another extended stay hotel downtown, you're better served to choose a place out by the airport or Mall of America. It's a quick ride downtown on the train.

Half mile hike to light rail, safe. The bars that serve the best food do not allow minors in after 9:00 PM. Smoking outside is at your own risk, no ashtrays, people congregating.

Pleasantly Surprised
04/19/2006Pleasantly surprised with the location and the quiet spacious rooms. we used the great parking and then walked along the river, walked to nearby restaurants, and enjoyed the area.
