my wife and i have been going to las vegas now twice a year for the past 5 years and we generaly stay 8 to 10 days each time we go. we have spent nearly every trip on fremont street. fremont street is preferred because it is protected from the rain by the canopy and short walks required to navagate numberous establishments within a few blocks. We have been to the fremont hotel casino so often we are known by the veteran employees and quite often get complimentary coupons to eat at their restaurant. i have to say that the experience at their restaurant has been many times the kind of experience, so unpleasant that the manager has had to be summoned to inform him of their lack of basic customer service (the food is good) and has left an unpleasant memory with us as a place to not go even if your eating on their dime. Out of approximately 30 visits over the years i can remember 6 times some type of problem has occured because of employee neglegence and or inconsiderations.

Hotel is very outdated and old. I know that they want to preserve it's history, but it needs maintenance. The room and carpet smelled and need DEEP cleaning. The toilette never stopped running and the faucets were rusty. Access with my relatives wheelchair was not easy, and the room had stairs, which made it difficult to maneuver. Staff was very nice and casino was fun. I would stay again if need to.

Everything smells like cigarette smoke. The smoke is in the air conditioning ducts so even if you ask for a non-smoking room, there is smoke in your room. All my clothes smelt like smoke, this includes the ones that I still had packed in my baggage.
The room had a strong deodorizer type smell, it was just awful. There is damage to the bathroom ceiling above the shower. The bathroom floor is dirty, this includes the sink counter. There was no hotel soap and the toilet did not apear to be clean.
The carpet on the floor is dirty and smelled of deodorizer and smoke. It's dark blue, and you can see all the pieces of small rubbish on it. I did not sleep and lucky for me, I was there for only one night. -

Historic? Sure. Decrepit? Absolutely! Spent a sleepless 1st night due to the unremitting loud decibel music ('til 4 a.m.!) generated by the Fremont Street Experience. They changed our room, but we still heard the music. There's no escape. Food is pedestrian, at best. They need to take a wrecking ball to this place.
