We just wanted a few days away and used our points for the stay. The location is great for getting around the French Quarter. We walked everywhere we wanted to go and Bourbon Street was really close. The room wasn't one of the nicest we've stayed in. It needed some touch up work, like paint and taking care of worn corners, but for a few nights, it was ok. (We recognize that we are spoiled from timeshare stays so tried not to be too critical.) Our room overlooked the courtyard and was quiet except for Friday night when people in the courtyard were loud and the sound carried up, but wouldn't give up the windows that open to avoid it. Bathroom sliding door was kind of strange, but I guess part of the motif they were aiming for. Would have to commend all the staff members we came in contact with. They were friendly, quick with greetings and always asked if there was anything we needed. All requests, from extra blanket to printing boarding passes were met without any hesitation. Not sure I would pick this hotel again if we had to pay, but would definitely use points to stay again.

Handsome, fully equipped room included CD and DVD players. ""Spectacular"" room included large patio overlooking Chartres Street. Wonderful to open doors in a.m. and have private coffee. Pool small but elegant. Courtyard intimate, charming and makes it easy to meet others. Bacca (restaurant) slightly disappointing. Bedding perfect. Room 4, Looks 5, Front Desk 5, Other Service 4. Comp electric runabout helps you go futher afield. Quiet part of Fr. Qrtr.

We found the whatever/whenever policy to be a great marketing tool only. We had reserved one of the nicest rooms in the hotel for the benefit of having a hot tub with our room. When we got there, there was no hot tub. Beyond this little mishap, which did get fixed, the room was nice until the couple staying in the room next to us checked into the hotel. We could here everything: TV, conversation. With all the nice hotels in New Orleans we will not go back to the W.
