Hotel was clean, well maintained, good location. Price was very good. I felt completely safe staying by myself and coming and going at late hours. There are several major restaurants in the immediate area. Downtown is quickly accessable by taking I-95 up to I-16. Takes about 15 minutes. Only downside was hotel staff is not very personable, they do their job, but that's it. Also the hot tub was ""temporarily"" out of order for the 4 days I was there. I had noted from other travelers problems with the pool area - appears to be ongoing.

Front desk staff unconcerned with customer service. ""You can have requested no-smoking room but it will be near pets and smoking rooms because you only booked with Travelocity instead of with us."" Electronically locked out - ""I probably didn't pay attention when you checked in."" Smoke scent in hall corridors. The WORST offering of free breakfast food - poorly stocked, coffee urns empty, and staff complaining about having to refill trays with stale bread products. When a guest asked if the waffle maker could be cleaned in order to make waffles, staff remarked that customers were to blame for mess and she would get to it ""if she could.""

OCCASION - BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. WE CHECKED IN WITHOUT ANY HASSEL. ALL 5 VISITORS WERE WELL PLEASED WITH SIZE OF THE SUITE, VERY SPACIOUS & CLEAN. THE CLERKS WERE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY!! THE HOT TUB WAS RELAXING!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS JUST AN ABSOLUTLY WONDERFUL 2 NIGHT STAY. THANKS TO TRAVELOCIT, WE ADDED TOUR TICKETS(BOAT CRUISE) TO OUR RESERVATION AND SAVED ON EACH TICKET. THANKS TRAVELOCITY!!!!! AGAIN THIS WAS A GREAT WEEKEND GET AWAY. WE ALSO DID THE PAULA DEEN TOUR, ALTHOUGH WE WEREN'T ABLE TO PURCHASE THOSE TICKETS WITH THIS RESERVATION, WE STILL HAD LOTS OF FUN!!!

We chose the Clarion because it had an indoor pool. When we arrived we discovered that it was not heated. We asked at the front desk, and they said they would check with the manager. But, the pool never got heated. After our trip we emailed a complaint, and got a reply back from the manager. He said that the pool is kept at 85 degrees all year, and that the problem was we don't know a heated pool when we see one. I know heated pools, and this was not one. It was more like 75 degrees. Don't say here if you want to swim.
