The Serrano Hotel was a great place to stay for a weekend trip. I wanted something close to the Hilton, which is right across the street. While it is on the fringe of the Tenderloin, there is sufficient activity, especially with the Hilton, to be safe. Plenty of parking close by either their valet or a parking garage. Easy to get a taxi because it's close to the Hilton. The rooms are small but very comfy, brightly decorated, clean, and modern. Good rooms for the value. Beautiful and energetic lobby.

Overall the hotel was wondeful! The staff was superb and the hotel was perfect. The location is also fantastic. I plan on staying at this hotel every time I am in the area. The wine reception at night is an added plus and offers a chance to enjoy the hotels wonderful lobby

Hotel lobby is beautiful. I loved the beamed ornate ceiling and decorations. Had a feeling I was in the 1920's. Staff was friendly and helpful Room 1009 well decorated but it was small. Not unexpected since it's an old hotel. I was a little surprised that the bathroom had some signs of mildew on the ceiling and some paint that had fallen on a picture when the painting the ceiling. Location well located close to BART, MUNI and Trolley and shopping, we avoided Eddy St because it was dicey, all other streets seemed fine. Would stay there again, good value.

Can not say enough about the Hotel Serrano. Was more than we expected. What a great room very clean and the staff was very helpful. The wine hour in the evening was great and in the morning the hotel has coffee, tea and hot coco. The hotel is right in the middle of everything, BART, buses and the cable cars. Union Square just two blocks away. The best breaksfat in SF is just around the corner, Dotties True Blue Cafe on Jones St. Will stay again when in SF.

lovely hotel, nice location, friendly people, great bed and pillows and clean. we had a very relaxing stay. some of the rooms are very tiny, but we were able to switch to a slightly larger one and were very comfortable.
