Glad I read last review about upgrades and requesting room out of range of nightclub, which was pulsing mightily when we arrived about 10 PM on Friday. Check in desk honored request to put us in another building. Sheets and pillows great - love the fluffy pillows. My gauge of a good hotel - plush towels, and they were. No hand lotion though and I had forgotten mine. Unless you access the adjacent buildings from the lobby, over skyway, you'll have a time finding the door to get in. Both look like service doors and the one facing the parking lot was unlit. If I had been alone, I might have been a bit uneasy. Only other drawback - freeway noise, but not enough to keep me awake. Good value for money. Easy freeway and downtown access.

WOW! Much improved since that last time I stayed in 2007. My family & I travel to Sacramento once a year. This property has done a great job with the room decor and improvements to the Lobby & Cafe. Can't wait until next year!

While I was at this hotel, the outside temperature was over 100 degrees, and the AC in my room couldn't keep up. The room was very hot the whole time I was there, and although their mechanical guy tweeked it, nothing changed. Also, you should plan on activities outside your room, because their cable is very basic ... only about 5 channels. Other than that, it's a very nice place and the staff is extraordinarily helpful and friendly.

This place is right across from a large & busy mall which is very convenient. There are also a ton of eateries to choose from within a few blocks. The hotel has free Wi-Fi in the lobby area. I really like the place.

"I was travelling for medical reasons and booked the Doubletree because it was so close to many amenities, such as restaurants, and the mall was right across the street. Once we read the negative reviews, we were very apprehensive about our decision, but upon arrival, were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable and the hotel was well maintained. Staff were friendly and maid service was great. The only downsides of this hotel are: one: the carpeting was very heavily stained and seemed out of place in an otherwise attractively furnished room, and two: someone else must have gotten a key to our room because one evening we came in to find a full bucket of ice sitting on our bathroom sink. Our patio door was unlocked and whoever had been in there, must have been surprised by us, because the ice hadn't even begun to melt. Security was called, we asked for a printout of times when our door was swiped with a key, which we never received. Security did agree that sometimes a key can open more than one room... ick... To summarize, I would stay there again and it was a pleasant stay.
