I took my daughter to Prince Edward Island, Canada early in July. Our vacation was 10 days traveling by car. Since Prince Edward Island is a 14 plus hour trip, we traveled half way the first day and stopped overnight at the Holiday Inn in Bangor, Maine. The room was acceptable, but it was located near a truck stop and the noise from the trucks all through the night was quite loud and made sleeping difficult.. Breakfast was not included in the price. We arrived at Prince Edward Island the second day and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Charlottetown. They gave us a room on the first floor and although the room was very pleasant, you had to keep the curtains closed since it was ground level and anyone passing by could look in. There was no privacy & it made the room dark. We asked if we could possibly move up to the second floor and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Our new room was terrific, bright, clean, & quiet. Beds were extremely comfy. The staff were very nice. The hotel included a continental breakfast that saved us lots of time and money and just made things more convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights. Everyone was friendly and went out of the way to meet our needs. The room was spacious and clean. The transportation guys were the greatest. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could be driven wherever we wanted or needed to go. This did save us on taxi service. The restaurant was closed for updating and we found ourselves eating in the bar. The food was just okay. I was able to use my government discount for additional savings.

The beautiful snow covered ski mountain and scenic view pictured as part of the Holiday Inn Bangor is no where to be seen. Bangor is the flattest place in Maine, from what I heard the closest ski resort is 1.5 hours away. Nearly all rooms have double good luck getting a king size. Over all the pool and hot tub served its purpose but are kinda scuzzy. The facility must have been built in the early 80's with little updating.
There is a Gold?s Gym in the building next door and is not physically connected so you have to walk out side in sub zero temperatures back & forth. Also, the pool is dual marketed as both the Gold?s Gym pool & the Holiday Inn pool. The Gold?s members are kinda have an attitude towards hotel guests. The hot tub is very small, it doesn?t make sense why they built it so small given the amount of room they have to work with. The hot tub is set in the floor and the ribbing along the floor has a lip where dirty water congregates into a swamp
The main reason I choose H.I. was for the pool/hot tub which I did use 2 or 4 nights however I closed my eyes when getting into the dirty grey hot tub water. -

We ended up staying here after getting a smoking room only at the travelodge. So Holiday Inn was the only place with a room open that weekend. We had a beautiful room and service was top notch.
One night my 7 yr old had a very bad cough at 11pm, the front desk staff who was finished her shift at 1130, drove to Walmart for us in Bangor and got cough medicine and brought it back. Couldn't have been happier staying here. We did use the pool..very nice and clean as well. Lots of towels there.

We loved the Hotel and the location.. great for shopping in Bangor. The buffet breakfast was supberb and the staff very friendly and nice. Had fun at the lounge and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Would recommend it to anyone!
