Good location but very dirty
08/26/2009Room was very dirty when we got there, dirt in the sink, mold in the bathroom, unknown smudges on the bathroom walls. very good location though, less than 5 minutes ...
Room was very dirty when we got there, dirt in the sink, mold in the bathroom, unknown smudges on the bathroom walls. Very good location though, less than 5 minutes away from fisherman's wharf, and the aquarium.

Hotel price which is probably normally $*/ night was increased to over $* /night during the Concorso weekend (all Monterey area hotels have this practice). The hotel is older and is in bad need of some updating. It sits right in the approach path of the Monterey Airport and it is very loud both early in the morning and late into the evening. This was not a good value for the money and we would not stay here again.

Unfortunantly there are a lot of Monterey hotels that are old and expensive. Travelodge is one of them. Paid over $* for We and Thurs night. Just happened to be many car shows and the circus was in town. The thermostat did not work in the room, had to open the slider to let some air in, which was not good for safety reasons. Three of us started out with only one towel in the room, I went and asked the maids for a couple more, they were being laundered....the towels that is. Shower door is falling off its hinges, had to lift and pull up to close. Went to the business center, the mouse was impossible to direct the curser on the screen, you would think they had enough money to buy a new one. Situated in a good location for the bay and Carmel. The continental breakfast was the basic muffin, juice, coffee, bagel, cereal menu.

The plumbing from the other hotel room can be heard. The sound of the cars parking or starting up can be heard. The pillows are small. A few planes that flew by was overpowering loud. It was pet friendly, so our pup was secure with us. Although, I would extremely suggest to pet friendly hotels that their rooms for pets should have tile floors instead of carpets. Easy clean-up and odor will not be as bad if some pets soil inside. They need a place (grass, fenced area) for pets to go potty in. It was easy access to downtown Monterey, Carmel, and other attractions.
