We went to the Softball World Series and booked thru a online website. We were trying to save a few dollars because we had to get last minute airline tickets - our girls won on a Monday and we had to be in Kalamazoo to play on Thursday. The booking was for non-smoking 2 beds. The girl gave us a heavily smoke smelled room and 1bed. We went back down and asked for non smoking 2 beds - or a refund so we could find another place. The manager gave us another room with 2 beds - this room - well it had all the sheets and bedspreads sealed in a plastic bag and the matress and box springs were leaning against the wall. I went back down and told the manager i wanted my money back - he went to the room and just stood there. finally he said we could stay in the room across the hall - the room was stuffy, the toilet was mildewed and the shower -well I thought I was going to fall thru the floor. This was a discusting hotel and do not recommend it for anyone. The manager told me if we did not stay that night he would not refund any of our money. We stayed 1 night and left early the next morning.

The building is tucked back off of the main road which made it a little difficult to see, but also made it quieter. There are plenty of places to eat, and shopping nearby. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the lobby. The girl behind the counter was polite and very helpful and the lobby was clean. The room had a slightly stuffy feel when you walked in, but was quickly remedied by opening the window. The light switch did not work so the lights had to be turned on manually, but with all lights turned on there was plenty of light to read and free wireless internet for my computer. The refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot were clean and worked well (although the in-room coffee was less than desirable). The beds were semi-comfortable, but the pillows were hard and flat. In the bathroom there was a slight mold issue in the shower, the faucet in the tub dripped, and there was no suction in the toilet. The walls are pretty thin and I believe there were elephants above me (or maybe children) but for the most part all noise stopped by 10pm, leaving plenty of time to get some sleep. The complimentary continental breakfast consisted of pastries, cereals, waffles and much better coffee than in the room. Even with the bathroom issues, I would stay here again.
