We stayed at the Mission Valley Resort for three nights. Upon check in they gave us a dirty room. No apologies, the guys at the desk just said "your kidding" and sent us to another building. The second day when we returned from Sea World, we were lokced out of our room and had to walk up to the desk for new keys. Again no apologies. Once inside we had no running water. Back to the desk, they said the "city" was working on some pipes but it should be resolved soon. This was on a Saturday and it was after several hours. The next day we went out again, and returned to inactive room keys. Went back up to the desk, and they informed us that a pipe was leaking and told us to move to yet another room. Not the most fun you can have on vacation with a two year old. Overall the rooms are older and somewhat cramped. Not very clean, found hair in the towels and stained bedspreads. Housekeeping never came by. Some of our light fixtures didn't work. There were lots of intoxicated people on the property. Luckily CHP sat in the parking lot most nights. OK if you are young and just want a place to sleep while you party. As there were lots of people doing just that. Not reccomended for families with small children. Oh, I almost forgot. The gym you get to use is awesome!

The hotel did not hold the room we reserved, instead gave us another room. The room was not cleaned very well. There was big long red hairs on the pillows, in the beds, and in the shower. There were other peoples clothes still in the cabinets. The coffee cups were just wiped out, not cleaned. The towel rack fell off the wall from one towel being put on it. Its noisy, the highway is a stone throw away. Its dangerous, there was a huge fight right outside our door at 5:30 AM.

Folks, please take my word for it and dont waste your money. Old, dirty and smelly. when we arrived they did not have the king rooms we reserved. wanted stuff us in a room with 1 double bed (it seemed smaller). I should have trusted by gut prior to booking this hotel.....the review I read warned that they would have the rooms as reserved and that it was dirty.

From Junction City, Ks Attended Marine Corps Boot camp Graduation on the 22d of November. Arrived early on the 21st. Desk person was great. Room was ready. Very small of 3 adults. Safe didn't work. Location was good though! 5 minutes to MCRD except during rush hour. Resturant on the property was supurb. Can't say enough about their staff. Wait personnel went out of their way to make every body comfortable. Can't walk out hungry! Can't find fast food anywhere though! Shopping Mall just a few minutes away. Girls liked that. Expect to California prices on everything. Small convenience & Liquer store on the property. Bar had free food and again wait staff that is to be applauded. Still, wish the rooms were a bit bigger with softer beds. MILITARY DISCOUNT for Friends and Family of MCRD!

location was good. check in was okay. room was ok. bathroom was small and older but it served its purpose. however the water pressure was our biggest complaint. walls were thin but we put fan on which helped drown out other noise. window in back of room did not have a curtain and it did get bright early but we got up early so it did not matter.beds were comfortable. we felt safe here. nice to have convenient store/liquor store on site as well as a restaurant. also very close to shopping. pool was nice and lots of lounge chairs to lay on. i would recommend staying here for someone with a lower budget. worked well for us!
