Was pleasently surprised with the Maison on St. Charles! The buildings were very beautiful and the room was tastfully decorated. The location was perfect for the street car as a means of city transportation; right in front of the hotel! The cont. breakfast was yummy and always stocked. One of my co-travelers even made the comment that she couldn't wait until breakfast the next morning while at the Saints game! HA! I will most definately be returning to the Big Easy and staying again at the Maison St. Charles!

This was my second time in New Orleans and my sister's first (it was her birthday present). The location of the hotel was great, about half way between everything we wanted to see - Garden District, Zoo, French Quarter, Riverwalk - and right on the streetcar line. The room was great, and even without a dresser we were able to set our clothes up on the spacious shelves under the sink area. There were plenty of towels when we arrived and having an individual air conditioning unit made it easy to set the sleeping temp of the room. There were only two things I didn't really like in the room and they are minute things. There was slight mildew on the bottom of the shower curtain from the material resting against the tub while drying and the side of the microwave was bent so we weren't confident on using it. Staff wise, everyone was very helpful and a friendly. T, head of security (I believe) even made it a point to talk to us as we were moving our luggage out to leave at the end of the trip. The staff even had a small pumpkin carving contest and asked the guests to vote on the winner. A very nice "family oriented" way to keep everyone involved. This will definitely be the place that I stay on any future visits to New Orleans.

The Maison St. Charles was a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Every one of the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. Parking was very convenient and a nice surprise the ease of access. The room really could use a chair to sit on. Very difficult getting dressed or trying to read a business brief sitting in a bed. No desk either. In addition, the GFI in the room tripped each time I tried to use the coffee pot. Request it be serviced but did not resolve the issue. Overall for $ per night in the heart of town it was a good value. However, the furniture and comfort were less than in chain hotels.
