Stayed at this hotel during business travel. Very convenient to my location and the price was right. Everything was very comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly, and I was very happy with my room. Looked almost brand new which was nice. The bathroom could do with a facelift, but it was clean and that's what counts. Breakfast was good and I was very surprised with how nice the breakfast room was! Had comfortable armchairs and even a large tv that was broadcasting the news. Very nice! I will be returning often during this project, and will definitely choose this hotel.

The Howard Johnson is a great hotel in Newark. Just completed my visit during a business trip to Wilmington, and did not want to pay the prices listed in the city. I wasn't expecting much for the rate I paid, however, I found everything about my stay to be pleasant and above what I expect from an economy hotel. The staff here is excellent! Some of the best hotel people I have ever dealt with. My room was large and clean. There was a good size fridge and microwave. The bathroom was a bit outdated, but clean and everything worked. The hotel is located close to I95, which made it a quick 15 minute drive to downtown Wilmington. Considering what I saved on the room, the trip is nothing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is a fabulous place to stay. We expected much less for what we paid, and we were very happy with what we got. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the location is easy. Really, for the rate they charge, this is a fantastic option!

This was our second stay at this facility. The staff is friendly and helpful and on this trip checked us in very efficiently. It was a little confusing finding our rooms in the back of the hotel. We had 2 rooms and it was sort of a maze getting back and forth between them(one on 1st floor and one on second). My room was right next to the parking lot with a slider opening to it which was very convenient to unpacking and packing the car. The room had a slight hospital room smell to it, but not too offensive. The breakfast is very nice with a decent selection of breads, bagels, pastries and waffles, along with cereal, juices, etc.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson Newark as a quick stop during travel, and we were very happy with our stop. The location is fantastic as it is easy to locate off of I-95. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was much nicer than most hotels I've stayed in, and I was very happy to discover that they had FREE wireless internet. Very convenient for getting some work done in the room before jumping back on the road. Check-out was easy with no surprises. I would recommend this hotel to anyone whether staying a quick overnight or visiting the area. We were very happy, and will definitely use this hotel again.
