  The Hilton is a nice hotel with friendly staff in a great location in San Jose. The only problem was at check in, the non-smoking room requested was not ready. I advised them that I would take a smoking room, but it smelled sooo bad of the smoke I had to turn it down. They offered the executive lounge for this inconvenience. We left the bags with them and were called once our non-smoking room was ready. Again to our dismay, once we went to the room, it was still dirty with previous occupant's garbage still in there. Again, we advised the staff who again gave us a different room. They gave us free appetizers for our inconvenience again. Once we got the clean, non-smoking room, it was nice. The room was nice as was the staff. It there was no inconvenience, I would have rated the hotel as excellent.
