The front desk service was good and the breakfast food and area was very nice. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the hotel. 1st room on the ground floor was unacceptable. It smelled like a musty basement, the fan in the bathroom did not work and there was obvious mold on the wall in the bathroom. The room was clean but that was all. Upon request the front desk changed my room, and wrote down what the problems were. At least they were very accomodating and friendly and offered to change the room with no argument or question. The 2nd room was much nicer, but there were still some issues. The safe was locked and unusable, and even though I reported it on Saturday it was not fixed before I checked out on Monday. The air conditioner vent was disgusting, covered in dust and possibly mold. The rooms on the 2nd floor were nicer than those on the first floor, nicer furniture, tv. The beds were very very comfortable. The free wireless internet was a nice perk. All I really look for in a hotel room is a clean comfortable room. I priced out hotels in the area and thought the price on this one which included breakfast was a good value. With a little more attention to detail this could be a nice place to stay. Hopefully, they fixed the problems once they were reported. I guess I'll never know.

Overall they get an A rating. My only complaint is that the breakfast area was short seated for the number of guest that were there. They appeared to be really busy hotel, which I wouldn't expect during this economy. I actually took my breakfast in the business center and checked my email while I ate. Room was clean and front desk staff made me feel comfortable. I will stay again when I return to RTP.

This hotel turned out to be quite a disappointment. We started off in one room which smelled like smoke and men's cologne, which was supposed to be a non-smoking room. This room also did not have a smoke alarm. We asked if the front desk had frebreeze or something else that could get rid of the smoke smell as well as a smoke detector. The front desk was not helpful with these requests. We eventually requested a room change. The 2nd room had dirty towels still in the bathroom and a clogged drain. This room also had no hot water during the morning and other guests shared this problem as well. There is also a train that runs by the hotel. We also needed to use the laundry facilities and it took 90 minutes to dry our clothes. The lady at the front desk was on the phone with a personal call all 5 times that we went to request assistance. Overall, this hotel was definitely not up to average standards.
