This is a no frills hotel....The room was nicely decorated and we had our own patio with a table and umbrella. It was clean,recently redecorated and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Full hot or cold breakfast is fine, but no fresh fruit. The pool area was nice. Not much for scenic views. The location is convenient to sightseeing on the west side(the desert museum,tucson studios and saguaro west) and the south (air & space museum, mission xavier de bac) and to downtown and the UofA. Construction makes it a little difficult to get to. There is no place to get dinner without driving somewhere. If you plan be sightseeing all day and are just needing a clean,quiet place to sleep , this is fine

great getaway
01/01/2009Clean, spacious, comfortable hotel room. lovely pool and sauna, well-kept grounds. friendly, knowledgeable staff. excellent full hot breakfast. we'll certainly return when in the tucson area.

We stayed here while participating in the "El Tour de Tucson" bicycle ride in November. We had stayed there the past four years primarily because it is close to the start and finish line of the event making it extremely convenient. We found each year the hotel has gotten more and more run down.
I was hesitant to stay there this year, but when I called for information and reservations I was advised the hotel had been "refurbished" over the summer. The clerk was so friendly and courteous that I was confident it would be a better experience. The previous year our sliding glass door fell off the track. (We were on the second floor!) When we checked in we were assured that we had one of the refurbished rooms and were given a "patio" room. The patio was a gravel pit littered with numerous dog feces and a large planter that was overflowing with cigarette butts. The smell was apalling. The bathroom sink was cracked, there was mold on the shower walls and the wallpaper was peeling. The bed and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable and the sheets and blankets had holes in them. They did not even feel clean. It appeared that perhaps they had replaced the carpeting thereby qualifying this room as "refurbished."
We were participating in the bicycle ride we did not have time to check out before we left for the day. However we did locate a Hilton nearby and made reservations for the second night. We ended up having to pay for two rooms on day two, but at least we slept well in a clean and comfortable room. Lesson learned; the Riverpark Inn does NOT understand the concept of clean or the word "refurbished." We will NEVER stay at the Riverpark Inn again! -
Great hotel for price
10/20/2007We were travelling thru 3 different states, this hotel was great, very secure, great outdoor area and the free breakfast was the best, a huge selection to choose from.

THIS HOTEL IS A GREAT VALUE FOR YOUR DOLLAR. THE BREAKFAST BUFFET DAILY IS EXCELLENT. BENNIGANS IS ATTACHED TO THE HOTEL. CHECK THE DINNER SPECIALS DAILY, IE: WED, ALL BURGERS, $4.99. THE HEALTH FACILITY WAS UNDER REPAIR WHILE WE WERE THERE. THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL COURT YARD W/ TENNIS, SHUFFLE BOARD, AND PADDLE BALL. MY DAUGHTER IS GOING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA AND THE HOTEL IS WITH-IN 15 MINUTES FROM THE SCHOOL. IT IS ALSO VERY CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN. MY FAMILY WILL STAY THERE EACH TIME WE GO TO TUCSON.
