My co-workers & I were there for a conference, so to save money we booked here thinking it was close to our conference & they had a shuttle--well, the shuttle was broken down & they had no way to get us to where we needed to go. Believe me, we'd have stayed where the conference took place if we'd known that, but had booked in August, so we were stuck. On the bright side, the manager was kind enough to let me use his computer to check-in on our airline return. Was rather disappointed also for the price that there was no continential breakfast. Rooms were clean, but very dark! Not enough lighting for my taste.

Excellent Place to Stay

After I booked this hotel, I got online and read reviews from different websites and was disturbed to find many reviews critical of the hotel, complaining about food, pool size, dark hallways, "dangerous area," "dated decor," and indifferent staff. After a 4 day stay, I found all those critics' complaints groundless. In reality, the staff went out of their way to find me a room cleaned to accomidate my early (10:30 am) arrival. Within 15 minutes after I arrived, I was in my room. The staff was uniformly polite, organized, and cheerful. They accomodated all my requests promptly. It is true, the hallways are a little dark, but so what! Contrary to other reviewers, my room was clean, the carpet was in fine condition, and the cleaning staff did an excelllent job. Far from being in a dubious neighborhood, my touring of the area showed that the surrounding area in all directions is comprised of high-priced single family homes. I spent about 4 hours in the pool and found it clean and well maintained. (It is small, but I was the only one using it.) I had both breakfast (a buffet) and dinner. Food was fine. My recommendation: great place to stay.

Overall the hotel was not bad, especially for the price. The customer service team had no personality and weren't exactly helpful. We had a hard time with internet connectivity. There was only 1 treadmill in the fitness center that worked. The pool was a decent size and actually pretty clean. My biggest issue was a 4 day wedding party that took place the entire time I was there. They took over the entire first floor of the hotel. So here I thought we would be able to sit in the huge atrium and relax, NO, not happening...and you had to walk thru the festivities to get to the gym and pool area. They had events all day every single day I was there...from breakfast thru dinner thru late night party.

This Holiday Inn really upset me when I asked where my refridgerator was that was supposed to be in every room-- it was going to be an extra $20. The bar and restaurant did look really nice though. Overall I would stay here if the price was still $100 - but any more I would find another hotel.
