This is a beautiful hotel and well worth the cost. I am a member of the rewards program and enjoyed the buy 2 nights, get one free promotion. I guess that is why I only had a view of the trees..LOL The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to help with all my requests. The hotel restaurant is very pricey. Add room service, tax and gratuity and it is better to have food delivered. The front desk gave me a list of the restaurants in the area that delivers. Although you are in a neighborhood without a market, stores,, etc. in walking distance, the shuttle is available to take you along it's route. Shuttle leaves hotel every half hour, o'clock and half past, (airport pick up/drop off every half hour, 15 and 45) you can request to go to Pentagon City for the food court/shopping and request a time to be picked up. Shuttle drivers are respectful and helpful. Housekeeping is outstanding. Although the policy is to only make the bed if you are staying more than one night, my linens were changed everyday. My only negative is the business ceter, the LINK. Parents use it as a babysitting service while they are working making it difficult to get to a computer to work. I was allowed to get to a computer after 30 minutes only because another guest gave up the one he was using to allow me to check my mail. My suggestion would be to check and make sure the computers are available to the other guests without having to wait too long. I am in and out of DC regularly for business and leisure and will definetly make this my home away from home.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Sheraton National on 5/27 and was pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel but very disappointed in the fact that the room rate was over $*** per night and I was asked to pay an additional $18.00 for parking each night... At that rate I would have been embarrased to ask for it had I been the owner of the hotel. The parking deck had less than 20 total cars in it... Room was clean and room service was very quick. Food was okay but not quite worth the inflated menu price and the additional 22% charge for room service and the additional $4.00 for delivery to the room... I would stay again but only at a reduced room rate.

  • Would stay again

Online travel website recommended this hotel as an add on to my airline tickets. It worked out to a very reasonable $**/night, which was a huge savings over the conference hotel down the road ($***/night). The biggest drawback to the Sheraton National is that it is not on the metro line, but a shuttle leaves every half-hour to go to the Pentagon City station and National Airport. Once you're at Pentagon City (3 minutes away), you can easily get to anyplace in DC. The staff of the hotel was very courteous and always eager to help. The room was clean and more than adequate, including a large flat screen TV. Internet service in room cost $12/day (how come this is free in a Motel 6 or Super 8?). Hotel bar was decent, although they were completely out of any draft beer.
