The experience was good overall. I stayed in different rooms and found that the first room for less money was better than the second room. The only differnce which was nice was the different view outside. Overall I had a great experience and would stay again without a second thought. The hotel was close to the action and could go in any direction you wanted. I would encouraged other to go with the * rooms due to it being the best overall room I stayed in.

Great hotel, good location, close to high-end shops. Transportation close by (i.e. taxis, MUNI, Bart and cable cars). Check-in went very quickly, professional and friendly. Room very nice, clean and comfortable. Plenty of hangers in closet, along with iron and ironing board. Wall safe for valuables easy to operate. Plenty of drawer space. Bathroom clean and well stocked with towels. Ordered room service first night there; decent choice of items from which to chose. Very prompt and timely with delivery. Asked if I wanted anything else, I did and he went and got it. Mini bar well stocked, but thought the prices were high. There's a small food store just at the next corner where you can get snacks and such like for waaaay less. Nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi area, plenty of lounges and chairs. Fitness center is in the Spa. Can get a 1, 3 or 7 day pass; usually $15/day. Can workout, and then use the nice facilities to clean up. The bed comfort was FANTASTIC! Probably the nicest bed I've ever slept in in a hotel. On the negative side, I purchased a ticket to an event at the DeYoung museum in Golden Gate Park from the Concierge desk and asked about closing times and was told that the museum closed at 9PM. The reality was quite different. It being Labor Day the museum closed at 5:30, not 9. The special exhibit closed at 6:30. I expect concierges to be aware of such things. I stated at the beginning that the location was good. It is, if you are going in one direction. In the other direction is the Tenderloin district of SF, which is a rather rough-and-tumble section of town. Just be aware of where you are. All-in-all, am definitely staying here again!

I really liked this hotel. It was a cab ride to at&t park. The room and bathroom were very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the internet. I tried repeatedly to log on to the internet but was unsuccessful. Overall, though, I liked this hotel a lot.

King size room was spacious for Union Square standards. Room was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed for 4 night stay. The staff were friendly, and very accomodating. Checked in early - no problem at all. Hotel is in the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown San Francisco. A short walk to Muni, Bart, and the cable cars. Plenty of great places to eat within a 15 minute walk. It was only a cab ride from North Beach area. Could not have asked for more!

I stayed at the Hilton San Francisco, located in Union Square. It was my frist trip to the city, and I was excited to be staying at one of my favorite hotel chains. However, upon arrival, things were not as I expected. I was told that the hotel was overbooked, and that I would have to check back later to see if a room was available- despite having secured reservations almost a month prior. Needless to say, I was not happy. I placed a call to website, and was told I would be moving to the Intercontinental. Although not pleased, this was fine to me as it was a nicer/newer hotel. A few minutes later, a hotel employee informed me that a room had been "found" for my stay. I was given a key, and checked in. When I walked into the room, I found it in disarray. The room was dirty, and looked as though the previous guests had literally just checked out. I had to wait on housekeeping to clean the room, and was never offered an apology. I will never stay there again, and do not recommend the hotel. Very disappointing service from a Hilton Hotel.
