We stayed October 2009. We were absolutely impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. We paid a bit extra to stay on the 27th floor and were so glad we did. The view was spectacular. A few extra bonuses for the extra were the continental breakfast and dessert. It was just across the street from the trolley car turn around so we had quick transportation to the wharf, chinatown etc. We are planning to go back and will stay here for sure.

Location is wonderful, rooms are clean, and you get free ear plugs. That being said, this hotel isn't half as swanky as it likes to think it is. When my party and I arrived, we were unable to check into our room until 8pm, despite check-in time being early afternoon. We were eventually able to negotiate a price deduction, but no compensation was offered up front. The rooms have no microwave or fridge, and the internet situation is downright absurd. There's no free wireless in the lobby, no free lobby computers for guest use, and the hotel charges per computer, per DAY, for wireless. I know for a fact at least one other hotel in the immediate area offers free wi-fi, as I was able to pull up their splash screen on my laptop, and it said as much. The transportation to and from the airport is also spotty. The night before my friend and I departed, I called the front desk to ask about shuttles to the airport. I was told no reservation was necessary, and that a shuttle left every 15 minutes, so all we needed to do was come to the lobby in the morning. My friend and I did this, and were immediately asked if we had a reservation. We'd been told we didn't need one - the hotel staff told us this was no problem, but half an hour after we'd planned to depart, there was still no shuttle. We ended up having to take a town car (that was more expensive than the shuttle, despite them saying it wasn't), and my friend almost missed her flight. Hotel staff also very rudely broke up a small room party, sans any warnings, on a weekend, Definitely staying somewhere else next time.

The hotel staff were really good and knowledgable. The hotel is very central to all the downtown core. Service in the restaurant/lounge was lacking. We sat waiting for a server for over 10 minutes, it wasn't busy. Be prepaired to have to pay for internet during your stay. This wasn't relayed onto us, thought I should pass this on.

Recently my daughter and I were in san Francisco, and had the pleasure of staying at the Parc 55. The staff were all very helpful and most courteous. The conciere was very helpful with our daily excursions around the sity, and most helpful in telling us the best places to have lunch. I would gladly stay at the Parac 55 on my next visit to San Francisco.
