The neighborhood is definitely a bit sketchy, but what airport area isn't? The hotel itself was quite a find. The front desk staff was more than helpful, and incredibly friendly. . .helped point out good delivery places, plan our trip to the airport the next day, etc. The room was quite pleasant. . .quite clean, lots of pillows, and a coffee maker. The wi-fi internet connection was slow at times, but would eventually come up. We left too early to try the continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if heading to the JAX airport, especially for the price and location.

This hotel was extremely disappointing. The rooms were filthy and I couldn't even make myself use the shower - it had a slimy film on the bottom and dirty marks all over the basin. The bed was okay and sleepable - which was a relief, but the floor had not been vacumed and had little rubber bands scattered around - strange. I wore thick socks the entire time, and I'm not a clean freak normally. The pool was green and the doors were loosely locked. I stayed because I was on a long commute and this was close to the interstate.

Found this hotel and thought it would be an easy stay on our way to Disneyworld since it's close to the freeway. Staff was fine, but the area is sketchy and a little run down. As soon as we walked in the room, the moldy/stale smell of the room was overwhelming. Couldn't figure out if it was the old air conditioner or just the room itself. The beds were mushy, and everything looked run down and old. The bathroom was dingy, and the bottom of the tub had that ground in dirty look to it. We used the pool, which seemed a little cold but that may have been the weather. Came back to the room to shower and didn't have hot water for at least 10 minutes. We didn't feel 100% safe there, many people were walking around the property and peeking in and out of their hotel room doors. I filled out the hotel comment card with our complaints and the person working the front desk just nodded when I handed it to her. We'll never stay at a La Quinta again -- think twice about staying here...the price might be right, but the hotel isn't.

The Hotel seems to be in a state of remodeling, and for that I commend them. The rooms are semi suitable, bathrooms are small, the matresses were from the 70's and the staff was helpful to the point that they had to be.
