The hotel was spectacular. Great view from teh room and a great bar area. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to New Orleans for the first time.

Myself and my husband were on a business trip for one night at the Westin. Never again! First, you have to pay a minimum of $18 per night for parking and are NOT allowed to travel freely in and out of garage without being charged hourly (so once you're in--you're stuck unless you want to go broke!) Upon checking out, there were several charges from $3.40 - $4.00 for phone calls...LOCAL PHONE CALLS!!! We had business to deal with in New Orleans...we called our clients who were only 2 miles away and were charged for the phone calls based on call length! Ridiculous! Indeed the hotel may be inexpensive, but the additional hidden costs add up quite quickly...we were so unhappy with the hotel, we checked out before 7:30 am the next morning...we will NEVER stay again!

We had an early flight into NOLA and i had called about early check-in but they said they were at 100% capacity. We arrived to the Westin and they said they had one room available for early check-in so we go up to the 23rd floor and try our key card and it was someone else's room. So we go back down to the desk and they were very sorry and upgraded us to a suite, 1500 hundred square ft with 4 excellent views of the river as well as NOLA. i would highly reccommend this Hotel. very close to everything

My husband and i stayed here the night of our wedding in the presidential suite (at the time this was the Wyndam) it was super spacious and had a view of the river and city. The staff was just wonderful! 2 years later, we stayed again but it is now the Westin instead of the Wyndam and we loved the modern details like the mirrors in the bathroom the shower had 2 heads and the beds were ridiculously comfy all down from the pillows to the comforter and there was even down below, there was a flat screen tv in the room and a couple great reading chairs. Again, the view was the same I highly adivise asking for a view of the city and river they usually accommodate if it's not fully booked which they did for us. Next time we stay in the city I guarantee you it will be at the Westin. Plus it's right off Decatur and near the quarter.

If you are acccustomed to the normal Westin heavenly experience, do not stay here! As a Starwood member, I had to ask both days for the "heavenly robe" and free water. The beds were hard, (we had two rooms) both were bad! I had "braged" on the heavenly beds, etc, to the other couiple, needless to say I was embrassed and there was no heaven here! The hallways were dirty, the service at breakfast was very slow with hardly any customers there. Two glasses were dirty! Late night drinks in the bar were hard to get!! There is a wonderful view of the river with large windows, we had to go to the bar to order anything! No service what so ever! I was paying for both rooms, and had to ask twice to get both receipts, when I got home I realized that I had another persons receipt! Westin should take there name off this one, it really brings them down!
