I stayed four nights, and had a great time. The kind and courteous staff was able to help me with directions, and requests. My only complaint was that because my room was so far away from the lobby, the Wifi service was unusable. However, the staff allowed me to use the dining room even after it was closed to use the Wifi. The hotel is located right on I95 and the 202. This made travelling around Jacksonville very convenient, and a straight shot to the beaches. The pool was clean and well maintained. Parking is located all around the building making the walk to the room very short. The room included a small refrigerator and microwave, which saved me money by eating in instead of out. The television was adequate, though the numbers were rubbed off the remote. I've stayed in many hotels, and the bed was a nice happy medium between firm and soft. I slept like a baby. The breakfast is well laid out, mostly cereal, bread, waffles, fruit, hard/soft boiled eggs. It's a "fix your own" style breakfast. The location was in an office district, with plenty of lighting. There is only one street that accesses the hotel, which is less than a minute from the highway. I felt very safe. I would have felt safe with a child walking down to the car, ice machine, or cola machine by themselves. If you expect room service with caviar, this isn't the hotel for you. If you want an affordable vacation with a clean, safe, well maintained, and reputable hotel, this is the one for you. It's a basic services hotel, and they do that very well.

Never again will we stay at this hotel, and it is unfortunate because the hotel is indeed very convient to Downtown (was a few minute trip), the hotel was clean and the staff is very friendly. However the owner is awful and made what could have been a great travel experience one in which I find myself writing this review. Normally, when there is an issue, it is the owner who makes everything right. Oddly, the owner had made an error in assigning our room in the hotel, and it was the staff who had to tactfully calm her (the owner) down, after she tried to blame us for her error. We fully disclosed the members of our party not only during the booking process (we had this in writing-and the front desk confirmed this), but also disclosed everything at check in. After the owner, who basically chased us down and after questioning us repeatedly and telling us that we were not being truthful, was proven to be in the wrong, refused to appologize for her error, and even decided to again take another jab at us about it when we saw her the next day. Unfortunate indeed, as she has wonderful staff and actually a very nice hotel, but this was un-called for in our opinion, and unacceptable for future stays in the Jacksonville area, of which we travel to quite frequently.

Me and 8 other people went down to see the VT boston college ACC championship game and we stayed at the hojo, the beds were extremely comfortable, there was adequate room for everyone, the pool was nice, the skeezy guy at the front desk kept hitting on my sister, but other than that they were very professional and polite. only problem with the place is its out in the middle of nowhere, and the cabs going into j-ville were the biggest rip off ive ever seen. All in all the room held up to 9 belligerent college kids for 3 days so needless to say it was definitely worth it

I think this hotel is more Motel like in the manner that you enter from outside to get to your room, no hallways to speak of. pool is only open for a minimal amount of hours (9am-1pm), continental breakfast was ok and free. Good place to stay on the cheap. Difficult to find, not by the other hotels on the same street and on the other side of the freeway. Staff was friendly and very accomodating!
