We stayed there in Sept. 2009 and were very pleased. The views from our tower waterway view room was great, nice balcony that overlooked the beautiful pool, grounds and waterways. Staff was very friendly. Did not eat at the hotel. Only thing we didn't like were the bathroom doors - sliding doors that met in the middle. They didn't stay closed very well and could not be locked. Otherwise, the bathroom was very nice and modern. There were places to walk to, but was too hot outside for me to walk very far. This hotel is right across 17th St. from the cruise port, so very handy for anyone going on a cruise.

The front desk was excellent, the view from our room was great, employees were friendly and the pool is nice. Location is good as far as being right on the water taxi route. It is a little far from the beach, but we knew that when booking. We were disappointed in the pool bar. It rained almost every afternoon for a bit during our stay, and the coverage from the rain at the pool bar was poor. Also the pool bar food was sub-par, in both the number of offerings and the quality. It was explained to us that the menu was a corporate decision. We noted that when the hotel was a Marriot, the food was better. The lobby could use some updating and the air conditioning units had it covered with about 6 buckets and pails, but the elevators were fast and the hotel was clean. This Hilton is extremely close to the terminal for cruise ships, so I would recommend this hotel for a stay before or after a cruise. The Southport Raw Bar is within walking distance for those who enjoy economical seafood. We enjoyed the pool itself which is nicely landscaped. The bathroon doors were not well designed. The Jungle Queen is a nearby attraction for all ages in addition to the water taxi.

Well first off let me say that I had stayed at the hotel when it was a Marriott and it is totally different. The hotel has been totally renovated and the pool area is immaculate. I stayed at the hotel 4 nights August 27-31. When I first check into my room I noticed a distinct smell in the hallway. The smell was from a cheesetray that had not been retrieved by room service. I called on Friday on Thursday to have the tray removed. By late Friday I had enough of the smell and decided to send it for a ride in the elevator. Other than the issue with the cheese, the only other problem seemed to be a lack of washcloths........Rooms are a bit small but the location could not be better.

my boyfriend and I stayed at the Hilton for our summer vacation trip, and overall it was a very nice stay. The front desk and concierge were very friendly and accomadating. The rooms were a little small but the decor was clean and fresh, and the bed was super comfy. The water taxi option was very nice, a great way to tour frt lauderdale and get to the main strip for the beach, food, and entertainment. We really didnt have any major complaints., the pool area was nice, and looked even better lit up at night, along with the outside bar area. Definitely would go again, and recommend to friends and family. ps pay attention when using taxis, make sure you get your change back..I did get my whole 20 taken with no change not paying attention.. :-) also, the avg taxi ride was $10.00

Arrived at the hotel at 1:30 AM - they had one room available. Even though I had booked non smoking this was a smoking room that was un-inhabitable!! They told me there was a room available at the hotel "across the street" (at twice the price). After wondering around with all my luggage in the middle of the night, managed to flag down a cab to take me to the other hotel. My suggestion is to call the hotel directly after you book to make sure you get what you want. The lobby seemed nice and the view of the marina was lovely.
